The McKedy Band is a family band that has been making great music for years. We are passionate about country music and western swing, and our performances have been a hit with audiences of all ages. Our unique sound comes from a father-daughter-son trio with father, Byron McKedy, on steel guitar & vocals, 21yr old daughter Mackynsie McKedy, on fiddle & vocals, 18yr old son, Austin McKedy, on lead guitar & vocals, along with bass player & vocalist, Terry Dobbs, drummer, Paul Guinn and keyboard player & vocals, Jason Baird to round out the sound. You will also often find a young, talented fiddler and vocalist, Sienna Rose, performing with The McKedy Band. We have won several awards for our music, such as the 2019 Josie Music Awards Junior Fans Choice, Mackynsie is the CMA of Texas 2024 Rising Star, 2023 Country Beats Radio Female Artist of The Year, 2021 Eastern Oklahoma Musician of The Year and Austin is the 2018 Oklahoma CMSA and NACMAI under 18 Traditional Male Vocalist of The Year.
Our performances are known for being crowd-pleasers that get people dancing. We not only perform as a full band but also do duo shows with just Mackynsie & Austin or 4 piece with Mackynsie, Austin, Byron and Terry on bass guitar. As members of The McKedy Band, we live and breathe country music. From playing small honky-tonks and small hometown dances and events to opening for legendary country stars like Gene Watson, Diamond Rio, and Johnny Rodriquez. We have had the pleasure of performing at many notable venues. Our sound is pure traditional country, complete with lonesome ballads, foot-stomping two-steps and some Western Swing thrown in there as well. We are committed to providing the best possible show for our fans and bringing traditional country music and western swing to a new generation.
